Sex Pistols - Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols
Kilka dni temu, a jest dzisiaj 14 lutego 2026 roku, czyli popularne Walentynki i mniej popularne święto żołnierzy Armii Krajowej... a więc kilka dni wcześniej do mojego służbowego pokoju wszedł znajomy z pracy. Usiadł ciężko na jedynym dostępnym krześle i zapytał ze zdumionym wyrzutem:
– Jezu, czego ty słuchasz?!
Popatrzyłem na niego, spojrzałem na siebie odbitym w ekranie monitora... Starszy, siwy mężczyzna pod krawatem, z siwą brodą i wąsem zakręconym jak u dziadka Franka na ślubnym monidle.
– Sex Pistols – odpowiedziałem.
Skąd ten młody człowiek mógł wiedzieć, że blisko pół wieku wcześniej też tak darłem mordę do mikrofonu jako głos punkowej kapeli...
Punkowy zespół Kaftan Bezpieczeństwa powstał w klasie 1E IV Liceum Ogólnokształcącego im. dra Tytusa Chałubińskiego. I wszystko w tym zdaniu się zgadza, chociaż prawdą jest właściwie tylko nazwa szkoły. Bo zespół, jako zintegrowana forma artystyczna, nigdy nie powstał, ale za to miał nazwę. Wbrew Autobiografii zespołu Perfect było nas czterech a nie trzech i zdecydowanie w każdym płynęła inna krew. Oczywiście, marzyliśmy o stworzeniu kapeli, ale tylko jeden z nas umiał grać na czymkolwiek, a tym czymś były skrzypce. On się tych skrzypiec na dodatek straszliwie wstydził. Uwielbiał heavy metal. Skrzypce mu do tego nie pasowały. Ani klawisze. A, jak na złość, w moim rodzinnym domu było tylko rozstrojone pianino. Gitary, w której brakowało siedmiu strun, nie liczę. Tak, tak, siedmiu, bowiem była to stara gitara stroju rosyjskiego. Kiedyś.
W takich warunkach mógł powstać jedynie zespół punkowy. Nie miałem pojęcia, czym jest punk, ale przyjąłem na wiarę, że będziemy grali punka, bo do tego nic nie trzeba umieć.
W tym byłem dobry.
Mniej więcej prawdziwą historię naszego zespołu opowiedziałem kiedyś w opowiadaniu Kaftan Bezpieczeństwa opublikowanym w zbiorku Powroty, nie warto więc się powtarzać. W skrócie, oprócz naszych marzeń, nic z tego zespołu nie wyszło, chociaż jeden z nas nawet kupił gitarę elektryczną, którą podłączył ze dwa razy do mojego gramofonu.
Żeby nadal polegać na prawdzie, nagraliśmy na magnetofonie kasetowym dwie wersje tej samej piosenki. Obie złe, ale i tak byliśmy dumni. Poza tym wpadliśmy w szał rejestrowania naszych wygłupów i w ten sposób powstała kaseta pełna dziwnych dźwięków, wrzasków, walenia w klawisze pianina, struny elektrycznej gitary, darcia mordy a capella i diabli wiedzą, czego jeszcze z warkotem odkurzacza włącznie.
Nie powiem, żeby pierwsza i praktycznie jedyna płyta zespołu Sex Pistols od razu mnie zachwyciła. Słuchałem zupełnie innej muzyki. Później się z nią oswoiłem, a jeszcze później odnalazłem w niej ducha prawdziwego rock and rolla, tego pierwotnego, tego odartego z całego niepotrzebnego blichtru i elegancji. To wspaniała, surowa energia, dźwięki buntu każdego młodego pokolenia, które czasem musi wykrzyczeć wszystko, co siedzi w nastoletnich hormonach.
Kaftan Bezpieczeństwa był jedynie marzeniem o takim krzyku. Opowiadaliśmy ludziom, że mamy kapelę, że spotykamy się na próbach, chyba nawet kilku osobom puściliśmy tę nieszczęsną piosenkę w dwóch wersjach.
Minęło jakieś 20 lat i nagle, ku mojemu zaskoczeniu, zacząłem spotykać ludzi, obcych mi ludzi, którzy twierdzili, że znają Kaftan Bezpieczeństwa. Ba, byli wśród nich uczestnicy naszych koncertów! Nawet dyrektor ówczesnego wojewódzkiego domu kultury wspominał przy wódce nasz występ w jego salce koncertowej...
I tak powstają legendy.
Malcolm McLaren, ideologiczny ojciec marketingowego tworu o nazwie Sex Pistols, znał ten mechanizm. Stworzył coś nowego, z czegoś, co nowym nie było, ale opakował to w swoją własną historię. No i miał kilku chłopaków, którzy chcieli być jej częścią.
Kilka zdań z księgi 1001 albumów muzycznych. Historia muzyki rozrywkowej od lat 50. po dzień dzisiejszy:
„Za stylem, który miał przyćmić treść, marszowe rytmy zaczynające Holidays in the Sun były jadowitym przypomnieniem, że za wizerunkiem buntowników krył się album, który miał zmienić naszą percepcję muzyki, mody i nastrojów całego pokolenia. Jest tu wściekłość w piosence Bodies o tematyce aborcyjnej i prosty, ale szokująco efektowny riff Steve'a Jonesa w kawałku Pretty Vacant, który dał nadzieję wszystkim beznadziejnym gitarzystom.”
Powstało dzieło jedyne w swoim rodzaju.
I jako takie, nie mogło się powtórzyć.
